The Brunton Boatyard

The hotel is located in Fort Cochin within walking distance from the bus stand. The airport and South Ernakulam Railway Junction is 40 kilometers away from here. Centuries ago, Geo Brunton and his family owned a boatyard here. Today, what stands is an unforgettable ovation to the legendary boat makers under the acronym The Brunton Boatyard. This CGH Earth property is seeped in history and every tiny detail has volumes to tell. A huge courtyard embellished with trees and a stone paved pathway leads you to an open reception. On the left of the reception lies the open lobby, a long rectangle space open from one side. A series of comfortable sofas units is lined along the open green lawn, while the opposite side has huge pictures of the bygone days of the Geo Brunton and Sons company. The end of the lobby takes a sharp left turn and here lies the tea lounge with a library for the guests to read. Hotel Facilities The proximity of various attractions in the Fort Cochin area is one of the biggest assets of the hotel. Besides that, it is a store house of historical extravaganza. Besides this, the hotel provides in house facilities like 24 hours room service, housekeeping service, laundry service, travel desk, car rental service, and doctor on call, swimming pool, souvenir shop, car parking area, internet services and an Ayurvedic massage centre. The rectangular living cum dining room is very cheerful, with one side devoted to comfortable sofas and other seating arrangement interplayed with colourful cushions and cute show pieces. The other half of the room is devoted to the dining area where a dining table for four holds centre stage. The bedroom is a little smaller than the Standard room and has all the facilities as mentioned in the Standard room but with two balconies. There is an attached bathroom with the bedroom with a bathtub and all the amenities and a separate washroom for the drawing area. A small pantry houses the fridge and some crockery and cutlery. This rustic place is covered with swords and rifles and other artillery equipments displayed on the walls along with a very neat arrangement of tables and chairs. This leads to the bar, much smaller in size but nevertheless elegant. The bar counter is loaded with bottles of all colours and shapes and sizes from all over the globe. An outside seating area, also a part of the coffee shop is covered with humongous fishing nets for a natural feel. A thin wall divides the coffee shop from the Lake.
